TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Pop-comedy group Project Pop will hold a special concert titled "Forever Young – Forever Fun" to celebrate its 30-year journey in the Indonesian music industry. Promoted by Northstar Entertainment, the concert will take place at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026.

A representative of Northstar Entertainment, Chairi Ibrahim, said the concert is a tribute to Project Pop's three decades as one of Indonesia's most enduring pop culture icons.

"Project Pop is not just a music group; they are part of Indonesia's popular culture heritage that has remained relevant for 30 years. Their clever comedy combined with multi-genre music arrangements has always been their greatest strength," Chairi said in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, July 10.

Chairi said Northstar Entertainment aims to deliver "the ultimate nostalgia party" through a large-scale stage production celebrating Project Pop's musical legacy.

"Initially they weren't ready to hold a solo concert, and I offered the idea several times. Once they were ready, we immediately moved forward with it," he said.

For Project Pop, the concert is more than a musical celebration. It is also a way of expressing gratitude for three decades spent alongside their loyal fans, affectionately known as Popop.

"Thirty years together is an invaluable blessing. We see this concert as a celebration of gratitude and a reunion with the extended Popop family that has grown up with our songs. We want everyone who comes to leave behind their stress, enjoy themselves, and go home feeling happy," Project Pop member Yosi Mokalu said.

The group has also prepared special musical performances for the anniversary show. Gugum said Project Pop has undergone intensive rehearsals to rearrange many of its classic hits, giving them a fresher and more energetic sound while preserving the nostalgia attached to the songs.

The concert will feature a specially curated two-hour setlist of around 30 songs, including several tracks that are rarely performed live.

"We've put extra effort into the musical preparations. We've created a special setlist that's perfect for singing along. There will be new arrangements, dynamic medleys, and special choreography that will encourage both us and Popop to dance together. It's going to be a lot of fun," Gugum said.

Marking the group's 30th anniversary, the concert will also feature several guest collaborators chosen not merely as stage surprises but as part of the broader story of Project Pop's journey.

P Project, NPD (New Pusat Dunia), and dangdut singer Inul Daratista will each represent different chapters of that story.

P Project reflects the group's musical-comedy roots, bringing audiences back to the humor, parody, and stage creativity that helped shape Project Pop's identity from the beginning.

Meanwhile, NPD symbolizes Project Pop's connection with younger audiences and today's digital culture, bridging the group's cross-generational appeal with listeners raised on social media, digital content, and evolving forms of comedy.

Inul Daratista will add another dimension through cross-genre collaboration. Her appearance highlights Project Pop's long-standing willingness to experiment with pop, dance, hip-hop, dangdut, reggae, and rock while maintaining the humorous lyrics and social satire that have become the group's trademark.

Since its formation in 1996, Project Pop has released at least 10 albums and more than 80 songs, producing numerous hits that have become part of Indonesia's collective pop culture memory. The group's consistency, ability to remain relevant, and solidarity following the passing of member Oon in 2017 have made Project Pop one of the country's longest-lasting acts.

Early Bird and Pre-Sale tickets, which went on sale on March 13 through tiket.com, sold out in less than an hour. General Sale tickets have been available since June 25, with two additional package options: "Goyang Duo," which includes two festival tickets, and "Goyang Rame," a bundle of four festival tickets.
