TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police’s Traffic Corps ended the one-way traffic scheme on Friday afternoon after traffic during the 2026 Eid homecoming exodus was deemed smooth and under control.
Traffic Corps chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho said the one-way system was officially lifted at 01:22 PM Jakarta time.
“Today, we are carrying out sterilization and reopening the route for normal traffic,” Agus said in an official statement on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Police had previously implemented the one-way traffic arrangement from Kilometer 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to Kilometer 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, following a surge in vehicle volume since Wednesday, March 18.
Traffic conditions returned to normal on Friday, one day before Eid al-Fitr 2026, which the government has set for Saturday, March 21, corresponding to 1 Syawal 1447 AH.
Agus said the one-way scheme was ended after authorities completed public notification measures and cleared the route. Traffic has now resumed in both directions, including toward Jakarta and along the Trans-Java Toll Road.
“We are now focused on securing Eid al-Fitr and preparing traffic management scenarios for the return flow,” he said.
