TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has launched new flight routes this year, according to state-owned airports operator PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney).
Among the new routes is South Korea-bound route with the low-cost airline T'way Air, which serves flights from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Incheon Airport (South Korea). The new route was launched on April 29, 2026.
"The expansion of this flight network marks airports as the agent of development to support economic growth and equity, as well as contribute to the national tourism sector," said Director of InJourney Airports Mohammad R. Pahlevi in a written statement confirmed in Tangerang on Monday, May 4, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Additional flight routes are also launched across several airports in Indonesia, including HAS Hanandjoeddin Belitung Airport - Changi Airport Singapore with Scoot airline.
In upcoming June, there will be a new route from Supadio Pontianak Airport to Changi Airport, while Spring Airlines is planned to serve routes from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"In 2 years' time, we are targeting to ramp up the flight frequency of existing international routes while opening new ones," said Pahlevi.
Several airlines, he said, have a great opportunity to open routes at various InJourney Airports. In the near future, Centrum Air will serve the Tashkent, Uzbekistan to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali route; and Greater Bay Airlines will have its inaugural flight from Hong Kong to Juanda International Airport, Surabaya.
"This is the basis for building long-haul direct flights from airports in Indonesia," he said.
In the first 4 months of 2026 alone, Pahlevi said there were already 53 new flight routes operated at various airports, up 15 percent from 46 flight routes during the same period last year. These routes comprise returning routes and brand new flight services.
"An example of a brand new route is Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado to Naha Tahuna Airport, which is now served by Wings Air starting from May 2026," he said.
