TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aprilia rider Jorge Martin won the 2026 British MotoGP sprint race after surging ahead at the start and leading all 10 laps at the Silverstone Circuit on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Martin made a perfect start to retain the lead.

He faced pressure from Ai Ogura and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez moved up to fourth place after overtaking Marco Bezzecchi at the end of the first lap.

By the third lap, Martin had pulled away from his rivals, maintaining a gap of approximately 0.5 seconds over Ogura.

Behind him, Marc struggled to keep pace with Ogura and Di Giannantonio, falling 0.6 seconds adrift.

The situation worsened for Marc on the fifth lap. Bezzecchi utilized strong acceleration out of a corner to overtake the world champion. Shortly after, Alex Marquez also passed Marc.

Marc continued to slip down the order during the final two laps. Pedro Acosta took his position with two laps remaining, followed by Joan Mir, who also overtook Marc.

At the front, Alex Marquez put in an impressive performance, passing Di Giannantonio to claim fourth place.

On the final lap, Marc lost another position to Franco Morbidelli, dropping to ninth place.

Martin ultimately crossed the finish line as the sprint winner, having held the lead from start to finish. Ogura finished second, while Bezzecchi took third.

Alex Marquez finished fourth, followed by Di Giannantonio and Acosta. Mir took seventh, Morbidelli eighth, and Marc Marquez ninth, while Diogo Moreira rounded out the top 10.
