TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto will perform the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri prayer in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, after observing the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the President will perform the Eid prayer while inspecting the progress of post-disaster flood handling in the region.
"We all flew to Aceh to perform Eid prayer there, with the people of Aceh in particular. Then, while also checking," said Teddy as quoted by Antara on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Teddy mentioned that the President will join the congregational Eid prayer at a location near a shelter for disaster victims. Following the prayer, Prabowo is scheduled to receive a briefing on the latest disaster management developments in Aceh from Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian and Public Works Minister Dody Hanggono, both of whom arrived in Tamiang ahead of the President.
"Tomorrow, the progress will be presented, as he wishes to directly oversee the developments in Aceh," Teddy added.
President Prabowo commenced his Eid al-Fitr holiday safari on Friday, March 20, 2026. He arrived in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday afternoon for the takbiran festivities before departing for Aceh on Saturday morning.
During the visit, the President was accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Team, Angga Raka Prabowo.
Additionally, several high-ranking officials arrived in Medan to welcome Prabowo, including Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
