TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Presidential Palace claims that the change in the leadership structure of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will not affect the implementation of the free nutritious meal (MBG) program. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has recently reshuffled the leadership positions of the institution that oversees its flagship project on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
According to Prabowo's decision, the position of the head of BGN is now held by Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, accompanied by two deputies, namely Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono. Meanwhile, the three officials leaving their leadership positions at BGN are Dadan Hindayana, Inspector General (Ret.) Sony Sanjaya, and Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Lodewyk Pusung.
The State Secretary Minister, Prasetyo Hadi, ensures that public service remains the top priority amidst this leadership transition process. He urged all units within the BGN to continue carrying out their duties and responsibilities as should be.
"The government will ensure that during the continuous evaluation process we are carrying out, all BGN programs continue to run as they should. Service to the public must not be disrupted at all," said Prasetyo Hadi in a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The politician from the Gerindra Party stated that the government's commitment to the MBG project remains unchanged despite the leadership changes within BGN.
"The government once again emphasizes that this change in leadership will not affect our commitment to implementing the MBG program carried out by BGN," said Prasetyo.
The Presidential Palace claims that the change in BGN's leadership is carried out to strengthen organizational performance and expedite the implementation of various priority programs carried out by BGN.
The Palace urges the new BGN leaders, Nanik, Agustina, and Trenggono, to immediately conduct internal consolidation and strengthen coordination across ministries and agencies. "As well as to strengthen coordination with regional governments, both provinces and regencies/cities, and ensure that all BGN programs can continue to run as effectively as possible," said Prasetyo.
Prasetyo stated that the government has high hopes for the new leadership to be able to improve organizational governance and provide real benefits to the community, especially in efforts to improve the quality of nutrition, health, and human resources in Indonesia.
