1. Dazu Rock Carvings

The area is divided into five main spaces: Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shizhuanshan, and Shimenshan. This site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
2. Chongqing Museum
Also known as the Three Gorges Museum, Chongqing Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in the region. The purpose of the building is to preserve and study the cultural and natural heritage of Chongqing. The museum holds artifacts recovered from areas flooded by the Three Gorges Dam.
3. Hongya Cave
Located along the Yangtze River, Hongya Cave is a picturesque heritage site showcasing traditional Bayu-style architecture. It has become a cultural and tourist hub, maintaining the look of traditional Chinese buildings. For the best experience, visit at night when the city lights make it even more magical.
4. Kuixing Building
This spot often surprises visitors because of its unusual layout. You might think you’re on the ground floor, but you could actually be on the 22nd or even 25th floor! Kuixing Building cleverly connects the first floor of one building with the upper floors of another across the road.
5. Ciqikou Old Town
A historic gem from the Ming and Qing dynasties, Ciqikou was once a porcelain trading center. Today, it’s still lively, with 12 charming streets and teahouses, giving visitors a glimpse into old Chongqing life.
6. Wulong National Park
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this park is known for its breathtaking karst landscapes. Expect towering green cliffs, crystal-clear lakes, and cascading waterfalls—all waiting to be explored.
7. Yangtze River
The mighty Yangtze River flows through Chongqing, offering scenic cruises that are hard to forget. Head to Chaotianmen Port to hop on a boat and enjoy a ride along Asia’s longest river.
8. Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street
Shopping lovers, this one’s for you. Jiefangbei is the heart of modern entertainment and retail in Chongqing, with sleek malls, tall buildings, and tons of places to eat and shop. You can also find the People’s Liberation Monument here.
9. Stillwell Museum
Still have more energy to learn about Chongqing’s history? The Stillwell Museum lets you dive into the past with exhibits from World War II, including four U.S. military vehicles donated by a Chinese-American named Tan Yongzhao. The museum has been open since 1991.
10. Chongqing Zoo
Last but definitely not least, Chongqing Zoo is a must for animal lovers. Built in 1953, it’s one of China’s biggest city zoos and attracts thousands of visitors eager to see the beloved giant pandas. Aside from the clumsy, chubby bears, the zoo also houses around 230 rare species.
