TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to continue with the Round of 16 after the conclusion of the Round of 32. Sixteen teams have advanced and will now battle for a place in the quarter-finals.
The Round of 16 will be played from Saturday, July 4, to Tuesday, July 7, local time across the United States, with matches taking place in the Eastern Daylight Time (EDT, UTC-4), Central Daylight Time (CDT, UTC-5), and Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC-7) time zones.
For viewers in Indonesia, the matches will be broadcast from Sunday, July 5, to Wednesday, July 8 (WIB).
Eight matches are scheduled, with two fixtures played each day.
The opening match will feature Canada against Morocco at Miami Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Later on Saturday evening local time, France will take on Paraguay at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
The following day, Brazil will face Norway, while England will meet Mexico.
One of the standout fixtures of the Round of 16 will be the all-European showdown between Portugal and Spain on Monday local time. The United States will also take on Belgium later that day.
The Round of 16 will conclude on Tuesday local time with Argentina facing Egypt, followed by Switzerland against Colombia.

Colombia Completes Round of 16 Lineup
Colombia became the final team to book a place in the Round of 16 after edging Ghana 1-0 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Friday, July 3, local time (Saturday, July 4 WIB).
Jhon Arias scored the decisive goal in the 14th minute to send Colombia through. According to Antara, the move began after substitute Luis Suarez, who replaced the injured Jhon Cordoba, delivered a pass that was missed by Luis Diaz before falling kindly to Arias, who finished past goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi.
Ghana pushed for an equalizer throughout the second half but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Colombia continued to threaten through Gustavo Puerta and Davinson Sanchez, while a goal by Luis Diaz in the 57th minute was ruled out for offside.
The victory sets up a Round of 16 clash between Colombia and Switzerland. Los Cafeteros now have the chance to equal or surpass their best-ever World Cup finish after reaching the quarter-finals at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
