TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 56,000 vehicles were recorded passing through the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road (Cipali Toll) in West Java, Indonesia, heading towards Jakarta until Monday night or after the 2026 Eid celebration.
Astra Tol Cipali's Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept. Head, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, mentioned that the number of vehicles was recorded during the monitoring period from 00:00 to 21:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
"A total of 56,000 vehicles have crossed Cikopo towards Jakarta until 21:00 WIB," said Ardam in his statement in Cirebon on Monday, March 23, 2026, as quoted from Antara.
He stated that the volume of vehicles heading to Jakarta had increased by about 92 percent compared to the same period the day before.
According to Ardam, the increase in the number of vehicles marks the beginning of the return traffic of travelers who are going back to the Jakarta area and its surroundings after celebrating Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns.
Nevertheless, Ardam ensured that the traffic conditions on the Cipali Toll Road were still observed to be smooth until Monday night.
He mentioned that overall, the total traffic volume on the Cipali Toll Road until the evening was recorded to be about one percent lower than the same period the day before.
The toll road manager, he said, appeals to road users to continue to comply with safety rules during the Eid homecoming journey.
He stated that drivers are requested not to stop on the toll road shoulders, except in emergency situations, as it could endanger other road users.
"Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or use resting places outside the toll gate if the parking capacity is full," he said.
Ardam mentioned that road users continue to be charged the same toll fare because the payment system is calculated based on the accumulated distance per kilometer.
In addition, he continued, drivers are also asked to ensure that the vehicle's condition and the driver's physical condition are in good shape before continuing the journey.
"If emergency assistance or the latest traffic information is needed, road users can contact the Astra Tol Cipali call center," he said.
