TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto is set to announce the government’s strategic response to global geopolitical volatility tomorrow evening, March 31, 2026. These measures include new regulations on Work From Home (WFH) arrangements, budget efficiency drives, and the strengthening of the B50 biodiesel policy.
Susiwijono Moegiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, confirmed that the press conference will be held in a hybrid format. "Tomorrow evening, live from Seoul, South Korea. We are preparing the event to be accessible both in person and virtually," he stated when contacted via messaging app on Monday, March 30, 2026.
These risk mitigation policies will be unveiled by Airlangga alongside several relevant ministers. Currently, Airlangga is accompanying President Prabowo Subianto on an official working visit to Japan.
Airlangga previously chaired a coordination meeting with his economic cabinet on March 28, 2026. During that session, he disclosed a series of strategic maneuvers the administration will take to navigate global upheavals currently impacting energy stability.
The virtual meeting served as a direct follow-up to President Prabowo’s economic directives. "In this meeting, we discussed various strategic steps, ranging from adaptive WFH regulations and budget efficiency to strengthening the B50 policy and national energy saving proposals," Airlangga wrote on his official Instagram account, @airlanggahartarto_official, on Friday, March 28, 2026.
In the social media post, Airlangga shared a screenshot featuring the ministers involved in the virtual discussions. Participants included Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Manpower Minister Yassierli, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini, and state-owned electricity firm PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo.
Airlangga emphasized that all measures will undergo a comprehensive review. Given the escalating conflict in the Middle East and global uncertainties rattling energy stability and supply chains, the government is moving to ensure that every policy remains measured and responsive to the national economy.
