TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A video claiming to show a raid on an online "buzzer" (paid influencer/troll) headquarters has been circulating on Facebook [archived] and TikTok since late June 2026. The video shows several men lined up with their hands bound.

The posts claim the men were tasked with generating narratives to attack government programs, such as the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) initiative. "One person manages 100 social media accounts to stir up trouble. Most of them are foreign nationals," wrote one account that shared the content on June 27, 2026. Tempo verified the content using a Google reverse image search and compared it with reports from credible sources. The results show that the video depicts a raid on an online gambling operation, not a buzzer headquarters.

The video was featured in reports by several media outlets, including tvOne on May 10, 2026. The footage, sourced from the National Police, shows the arrest of 321 foreign nationals suspected of involvement in an online gambling operation.

According to Tempo, the raid took place in a large room at the Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower in West Jakarta on May 8, 2026. Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, Director of General Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), stated that the foreign nationals allegedly operated an online gambling site for two months. They were staying at lodgings near the operation site.

The group included 228 individuals from Vietnam, 57 from China, and the remainder from various ASEAN countries. They worked as coordinators, operators, telemarketers, and finance staff. Based on the evidence and digital traces discovered, the gambling operation targeted other countries rather than Indonesia.

However, Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko, Secretary of the Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) Indonesia, stated that the perpetrators are still expected to face legal proceedings under Indonesian law. "Naturally, we do not want the perpetrators to return to their home countries without facing punishment," Untung said.
