TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, will fulfill the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Thursday, February 20, 2025. Hasto will be examined as a suspect in the case of alleged bribery involving the General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner by PDIP politician Harun Masiku, as well as the case of alleged obstruction of justice.

PDIP spokesperson Guntur Romli said the summons is scheduled for 10:00 AM local time. When Tempo contacted Guntur, Hasto was reported to be on his way to the KPK. "The summons is at 10 o'clock, but he has already arrived before that," Guntur said in a text message this morning.

Previously, Hasto ensured his presence at the KPK's summons. He stated that as per the values instilled by the party with the symbol of the white-snouted banteng, discipline and obedience to the law are non-negotiable.

"Therefore, tomorrow I will be present to comply with the summons from the KPK," Hasto said at the PDIP Party School in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Initially, the KPK scheduled the summons for Hasto as a suspect on Monday, February 17, 2025. However, Hasto did not comply with the summons.

Hasto's legal representative, Ronny Talapessy, stated that they had sent a letter requesting the postponement of the examination to the anti-corruption commission. The reason being that day, Hasto was in the process of applying for judicial review again.

"In relation to reapplying for judicial review at the South Jakarta District Court as a follow-up to the previous judicial review decision," Ronny said.

The KPK responded to Hasto's absence by issuing a second summons. The letter was sent by the KPK shortly after receiving Hasto's request for a postponement of the examination. "Investigators will issue a second summons to the person concerned, still within this week," said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto last Monday, February 17, 2025.

The KPK had designated Hasto as a suspect on December 24, 2024, in a bribery case involving KPK fugitive, Harun Masiku. Hasto and Harun are suspected of bribing KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan so that Harun could replace Nazarudin Kiemas, a PDIP legislative candidate who had passed away, to occupy a parliamentary seat.

In this case, six people have been designated as suspects, namely Hasto, Harun, Wahyu, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelina, PDIP cadre Saeful Bahri, and PDIP lawyer Donny Tri Istiqomah.

Out of these, three of them, namely Wahyu, Saeful, and Agustiani, have been convicted and completed their sentences. Meanwhile, Donny was designated as a suspect along with Hasto.
