TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) recorded the total number of passenger movements in 37 airports in the first quarter of 2026 reaching 38.20 million, which increased by about 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year at 36.38 million.
"Throughout the first three months of this year, the number of domestic route passengers reached 28.38 million and international route passengers reached 9.82 million," said the President Director of InJourney Airports, Mohammad R. Pahlevi, in his statement in Jakarta, on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
He also conveyed that the total aircraft movements also recorded an 8.7 percent increase from 275,782 flights to 299,759 flights.
He mentioned that the increase in flight traffic is in line with the growing demand for flights during the peak holiday season in January 2026, as well as the Eid al-Fitr Transport in March 2026.
He said that the increased demand for air travel during the peak season in January 2026 and March 2026 could be accommodated by InJourney Airports through good collaboration with all airport stakeholders.
"We are grateful for the support of all parties so that, in general, InJourney Airports' airports can serve aircraft passengers well and smoothly during these busy periods," Pahlevi said.
During these two peak periods, all airports managed by InJourney Airports were operational 24 hours a day, adjusting to the needs of airlines to ensure the availability of flights and as an effort to utilize flight slot times at the airports.
According to him, the increase in the number of passengers and flights was also driven by the opening of new flight routes at various airports as a concrete manifestation of close collaboration between InJourney Airports and airlines.
He also said that they collaborated with various parties to strengthen flight connectivity in Indonesia through the opening of new flight routes, both domestic and international.
"This is InJourney Airports' effort to play a role as an agent of development and value creator to contribute to the national economic growth," he said.
The five busiest airports in the first three months of this year were Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang (13.48 million passengers), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali (5.34 million passengers), Juanda Airport in Surabaya (3.21 million), Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar (2.34 million passengers), and Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang (1.80 million passengers).
In the second quarter of 2026, Pahlevi continued, the airports managed by InJourney Airports will focus on serving prospective Hajj pilgrims during the Hajj transport period and also during the school holiday period.
InJourney Airports is committed to continuously improving services and facilities at all airports through ongoing transformation in aspects of world-class infrastructure and facilities (premises), airport staff with world-class service (people), and airport operations based on an ecosystem (process) which will also be implemented this year.
"And of course, relying on technology as an enabling function," said Pahlevi.
