TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said his proposed 10-point framework has been accepted as the basis for future negotiations with the United States, according to state media on Friday, April 10.

As reported by Anadolu, he emphasized that Iran will not support a ceasefire without guarantees against renewed aggression.

In a meeting with foreign diplomats in Tehran, Takht-Ravanchi stated that Iran remains supportive of diplomacy and dialogue, but rejects any process based on misleading information or paving the way for further military action.

"Iran has always welcomed diplomacy and dialogue," he said, stressing that negotiations should not be a pretext for renewed aggression.

He also rejected a ceasefire that would allow the opposing side to rearm.

The framework includes recognizing Iran's right to enrich uranium, lifting US sanctions, withdrawing US troops from the Middle East, and ending hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.

Tensions have escalated since the US and Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, to which Iran responded with drone and missile attacks and shipping restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US and Iran had previously agreed to a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan as a step toward a broader agreement.
