TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jet fuel (avtur) prices across Indonesian airports skyrocketed amidst the ongoing war in the Middle East. According to PT Pertamina Patra Niaga's data, avtur prices surged from Rp13,656.51 - Rp15,737.82 per liter in March 2026 to Rp22,707.92 - Rp25,632.39 per liter in April 2026.
"Jet fuel is Rp22,707.92 per liter at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam," as cited from the official Pertamina aviation fuel price document on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Just last month, jet fuel price at the Batam airport was parked at Rp13,791.25 per liter, but it has since experienced a 64.66 percent surge. The prices are based on domestic flight price into plane/not into plane, which already incorporate Value Added Tax (VAT) and other government taxes.
Highest jet fuel prices this month is recorded at Pattimura Airport in Ambon, Douw Atuture in Nabire, and Karel Sadsuitubun in Tual, at Rp25,632.39 per liter, a 62.44 percent rise from the previous Rp15,780.24 per liter.
At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the aviation fuel prices this month rose by 72.45 percent from Rp13,656.51 to Rp23,551.08 per liter. Meanwhile, at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, avtur prices rose from Rp15,448.44 to Rp25,343.01 per liter.
The international flight jet fuel prices at Hang Nadim Airport also rose from US$83 cents to US$142.60 cents per liter. Then, at Pattimura, from US$85.20 cents to US$144.80 cents per liter; at Soekarno-Hatta from US$74.20 cents to US$133.80 cents per liter; and at I Gusti Ngurah Rai from US$84 cents to US$143.50 cents per liter.
The Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) previously requested the government to raise the upper limit tariffs and fuel surcharge by 15 percent due to the surge in global oil prices, which affected jet fuel prices.
The rupiah exchange rates have weakened since the upper-limit tariffs were set in 2019. The association also requested the government to provide stimulus for the sustainability of aviation operations.
