TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be attending the Bastille Day Commemoration in Paris, France, on July 14, 2025. His presence is in response to an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi stated that before going to France, the Head of State will make a stopover in the capital of Belgium, Brussels, where Prabowo will attend an economic meeting. "Then he will continue his visit to France, as we have previously conveyed that there is an invitation from President Macron and the French Government to attend Bastille Day on July 14," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex on July 11, 2025.
In France, President Prabowo will witness for the first time the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) contingent march in the national day parade of France. Prabowo will be accompanied by the cabinet, especially Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto. Prasetyo mentioned that Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia would also accompany him.
In addition to attending the Bastille Day events, Prasetyo said that the Indonesian delegation plans to sign additional cooperation agreements in the fields of transportation, culture, and tourism as a follow-up to previous cooperation agreements. "But we will see whether the ministers can accompany the president," said Prasetyo, who is also the presidential spokesperson.
Prior to commencing the overseas tour, Prabowo Subianto supervised the readiness of the TNI-Polri contingent that would participate in the Bastille Day parade in France at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta. President Prabowo inspected the TNI contingent before departing to three countries, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and France, at 3:10 PM WIB (Indonesian Western Time).
Before boarding the plane, Prabowo took a moment to observe the TNI marching band that would participate in the Bastille Day parade on July 14, 2025. He oversaw the troops accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Deputy House Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

He also invited the Indonesian armed forces to enliven the military parade. "I invite President Prabowo to attend on July 14 so that the Indonesian armed forces can parade with our armed forces and become our honored guests," said Macron at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
President Prabowo expressed his honor at being invited by President Macron to attend the Bastille commemoration because the event is a significant day for France. Prabowo also conveyed Macron's invitation for the TNI contingent to march in the Bastille Day commemoration. "I express my thanks because in the past, when this event took place, if I were in Paris, I would have watched from the sidelines. I am grateful that I can stand on the podium together with the President," said Prabowo.
