TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Economic Team of Bank Mandiri predicts that the exchange rate of the rupiah will move in the range of Rp16,865 - Rp16,932 per United States (US) dollar in today's trading, Thursday, March 26, 2026. Meanwhile, yesterday the rupiah closed stronger by 0.44 percent at the level of Rp16,910 per US dollar. On a year-to-date basis, the rupiah has depreciated by 1.32 percent.

According to OCE Bank Mandiri, the United States (US) stock market closed higher on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The Dow Jones strengthened by 0.66 percent to the level of 46,429, while the S&P 500 rose by 0.54 percent to the level of 6,591.

"The US Treasury 10-year yield fell by 2.77 bps to 4.33 percent as investors assessed developments in the Middle East, amidst increasing uncertainty about the end of Iran's role," said the Economic Team of Bank Mandiri in their analysis on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

The US Dollar Index, or DXY, was observed at the level of 99.4 in yesterday's trading. OCE Bank Mandiri stated that the market is still considering the potential for de-escalation of the US conflict with Iran. The market is also said to have reduced expectations of a cut in interest rates by the US central bank, The Federal Reserve, this year.

The Economic Team of Bank Mandiri said that these developments were caused by President Donald Trump's statement claiming that the US had negotiated with Tehran and mentioning the possibility of a peace agreement. Although the claim was later denied by Iranian authorities. "As a result, world oil prices fell by 6 percent, providing some relief from concerns about a resurgence of inflation," said OCE Bank Mandiri.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange closed 2.75 percent higher at 7,302 on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Foreign capital inflows into the capital market were recorded at Rp102.8 billion. Meanwhile, the yield on 10-year Government Securities (SBN) rose 6.9 basis points to 6.93 percent.
