TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden will visit Indonesia from September 4 to 8, 2026 in her capacity as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The visit will focus on UNDP’s work in Indonesia regarding sustainable development, climate action, biodiversity conservation, digital transformation and inclusive economic growth.
In Jakarta, Her Royal Highness will meet with government leaders, development partners, the private sector, young leaders and United Nations representatives to discuss how innovation, digital transformation and blended finance can help accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The program will also include a visit to East Nusa Tenggara, where the Crown Princess will meet communities and partners working to conserve Indonesia's unique natural heritage while creating sustainable economic opportunities through ecotourism and nature-based development.
“Indonesia is home to innovative and locally led solutions to pressing development challenges, from climate action and biodiversity conservation to digital transformation and inclusive growth. Crown Princess Victoria’s visit is an opportunity to see these innovations firsthand and to highlight how local action can help drive global progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Alexander De Croo, UNDP Administrator.
“Indonesia's development journey is defined by strong partnerships and the determination of its people to build a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable future. We are honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness to Indonesia to experience firsthand the creativity, innovation and local leadership behind development solutions that matter for Indonesia and the world. These are powerful examples of how local action can contribute to global progress,” said Sara Ferrer Olivella, UNDP Resident Representative in Indonesia.
The Crown Princess was appointed UNDP Goodwill Ambassador in October 2023. In this role, Her Royal Highness supports efforts to raise awareness and mobilize engagement around the SDGs and a sustainable future where no one is left behind.
