TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Dubai International Airport, United Arab Emirates, was named the world's busiest international airport for 2025. The airport served 62.4 million international seats, a 4 percent increase from the previous year, according to data from British aviation company OAG, which released its World's Busiest Airports of 2025 ranking.

According to the company, this is the third consecutive year the airport has held the same position. The airport's international passenger numbers in 2025 exceeded those in 2019 by 16 percent.

As Emirates' main hub, Dubai International Airport handles nearly 100 airlines flying to more than 240 destinations across six continents. The airport also offers amenities such as a zen garden, outdoor pool, fitness center, cinema, diverse dining options, and a five-star hotel.

The second busiest international airport is London Heathrow Airport. The airport will handle approximately 49 million international seats, a 1 percent increase compared to 2024 and 4 percent above 2019 levels, according to the report, which is based on scheduled capacity and seat counts for international flights.

Seoul Incheon International Airport is in third place with 43 million seats, a 3 percent increase compared to 2024. This figure signals a full recovery in international travel at the airport.

Changi Airport Ranks Fourth

Singapore's Changi Airport, consistently ranked among the world's best airports, is in fourth place with 42.6 million seats, a 3 percent increase from the previous year. This number is on par with pre-pandemic 2019 levels.

Hong Kong International Airport recorded the largest annual increase among the top 10 airports, growing by 12 percent to 38.7 million seats in 2025. With this figure, Hong Kong Airport ranks eighth on the list.

As reported by Travel and Tour World, the World's Busiest Airports ranking is based on scheduled seat capacity. This refers to the total number of seats available on international flights departing from each airport. This metric provides a clear indication of an airport's international connectivity, making it ideal for comparing the global aviation landscape. The rankings do not take into account actual passenger numbers, but rather available capacity, highlighting the potential demand and volume of global air traffic through each hub.

Dubai International Airport is the world's busiest international airport due to its central location between Europe, Asia, and Africa. This geographic advantage makes it a vital transit hub for international travelers. The airport's high connectivity is bolstered by its relationship with Emirates Airlines, which offers a wide selection of long-haul flights to destinations across continents.
