TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has once again opened up scholarship opportunities for higher education from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) in 2026. Although the official announcement for LPDP 2026 has yet to be released, the registration scheme and selection process are estimated to hold no meaningful differences with the previous year's implementation.
This year, the government has allocated a total of 5,750 LPDP scholarships. This policy is hoped to bolster human resources quality through the expansion of access to higher education with state financing support.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, stated that the LPDP 2026 quota details include 1,000 seats for Garuda scholarships for the bachelor's degree (S1), 4,000 seats for master's and doctoral degrees (S2 and S3), and 750 seats specifically for medical specialist education.
Referring to the mechanism of LPDP 2025, the scholarship application process will be conducted online through the official LPDP website at https://beasiswalpdp.kemenkeu.go.id. Applicants are required to create an account, fill out the application form, and upload all the required documents according to the selected scholarship path and type.
After uploading all the data and documents, applicants must ensure that they have submitted the application to obtain a registration code. This code serves as an indication that the registration has been recorded in the LPDP system and will be processed during the administrative selection phase.
The LPDP scholarships are aimed at financing S2 and S3 education, both domestically and overseas. In addition to covering the primary education expenses, LPDP also provides various supporting funding components. The education funds include registration fees, single tuition fees, book allowances, thesis or dissertation research costs, international seminars, and international journal publications.
Meanwhile, the supporting funds include transportation costs, visa arrangements, health insurance, arrival funds, monthly living expenses, and support for international competitions. Specifically for doctoral scholarship recipients, LPDP also provides family allowances and emergency funds if needed during the study period.
The LPDP selection process generally consists of administrative selection, scholastic talent selection, and substance selection.
Below are the steps for applying for LPDP scholarships in 2026 (referring to the 2025 scheme):
- Access the official LPDP website at https://beasiswalpdp.kemenkeu.go.id.
- Create a registration account and complete personal data.
- Choose a program, study level, and available scholarship types.
- Upload all required documents in accordance with the scholarship pathway.
- Double-check the completeness and accuracy of the data.
- Submit the application until obtaining a registration code.
- Monitor the results of the administrative selection through the LPDP account.
- Follow the scholastic talent selection and substance selection stages according to the schedule.
