TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The President Director of PT Indonesia Air Transport, Tri Adi Wibowo, confirmed seven crew members on board the ATR 42-500 flight, including the pilot and cabin crew.
"It was circulating that there were eight crew members, but we confirm seven were on board," he said on Saturdya, January 17, 2026, referring to the ATR 42-500 aircraft that crashed in South Sulawesi.
Those identified include Andy Dahananto (captain/pilot), Farhan Gunawan (copilot), Hariadi (flight operation officer), Restu Adi P (engineer), Dwi Murdiono (engineer), Florencia Lolita (cabin crew), and Esther Aprilita S (cabin crew).
Previously, an aircraft owned by Indonesia Air Transport was reported missing during a Makassar-bound flight from Yogyakarta on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
The Makassar search and rescue agency (Basarnas) received information about the contact loss at 01:17 p.m. local time from AirNav Makassar.
The aircraft wreckage was found on the southern slope of Bulusaraung Peak in South Sulawesi on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Meanwhile, the body of the aircraft was found to the north of Bulusaraung Peak.
Tri Adi Wibowo expressed concern over the incident and is awaiting the rescuers—from Basarnas, the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), and the Ministry of Transportation—to search for the victims. "Our team has departed for Makassar to participate in the process," he said.
Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono earlier said three ministry employees were on board the aircraft. They were Ferry Irawan as a Vessel Monitoring System Analyst, Deden Mulyana as a state-owned goods manager, and Yoga Naufal as an Aerial Photography Operator.
"We would like to confirm that there were KKP staff on board as they were carrying out air surveillance missions of marine and fisheries resources in Indonesia's territorial waters," Trenggono said.
The minister said his side has been working closely with Indonesia Air Transport in conducting air surveillance, using the aircraft in nearly all Indonesian regions, especially border areas.
