TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Israeli occupiers burnt a mosque and several civilian-owned vehicles in the village of Jibiya, northwest of Ramallah, in the Palestinian Authority. According to the official news agency WAFA on Friday, May 15, 2026, as reported by Anadolu, they set fire to the mosque and vehicles and vandalized Palestinian homes by spraying racist slogans on their walls.
In a separate incident, occupiers attacked homes in the town of Al-Lubban al Sharqiya, south of Nablus. Security sources told WAFA that Israeli occupation forces attacked homes along the main road of the town and broke down several doors, causing panic and terror among women and children.
The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is unilaterally occupied by Israel. In recent years, this Palestinian territory has experienced an increase in military operations by Israel, including the arrest and shooting of civilians, and the excessive use of force, even confiscating the property of the Palestinian people.
According to Anadolu, despite the ceasefire, the death toll in Gaza continues to rise. Since the October 2023 attacks, the number of fatalities has reached 72,612. Meanwhile, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported a total of 172,457 injuries since the start of the initial attacks.
Since the ceasefire on October 10, 2025, there have been 832 fatalities and 2,345 injuries due to Israeli attacks. In addition, 767 bodies have been found under the rubble. Authorities in Gaza believe that there are still thousands of victims yet to be evacuated from the ruins.
The European Union, through its foreign relations spokesperson, Anouar Al Anouni, reaffirmed its rejection of any territorial changes in Gaza, in line with the UN Security Council resolution. Anouni emphasized the importance of the West Bank and Gaza being under Palestinian authority and called for the accelerated implementation of a peace plan.
The source added that the European Union urged Israel to open up broad access to humanitarian aid immediately and without obstacles. Israel is said to be continually restricting the movement of civilians in Gaza through territorial restrictions, including the enforcement of new border lines that expand its control area.
