TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, will recruit nutrition experts and pediatricians as directors within the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. According to Nanik, The BGN's organizational structure and work procedures have established the existence of the BGN Board of Directors. The board is responsible for guiding the MBG.
"In the organizational structure of the National Nutrition Agency, there is actually a Board of Directors. It is within this Board of Directors that we will fill with nutrition experts and pediatricians," said Nanik after being inaugurated as the head of BGN at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Nanik stated that the Board of Directors consists of seven people who will guide the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's flagship project. "Perhaps among these seven people, five of them are likely to be nutrition experts," Nanik said.
President Prabowo officially inaugurated Nanik S. Deyang as the Head of BGN, and Trenggono as well as Agustina Arumsari as the Deputy Heads of BGN, on Monday afternoon.
Nanik, who previously served as Deputy Head of the BGN, replaced Dadan Hindayana. Meanwhile, Trenggono and Agustina replaced Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung. The former officials they replaced are now suspects in alleged corruption cases within the BGN and are detained by the Attorney General's Office.
Following the inauguration at the Presidential Palace, Nanik stated that she intends to be cautious in using the MBG budget. She mentioned that financial discipline in BGN will be assisted by Agustina Arumsari. Arumsari previously had experience at the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
Nanik hopes that Agustina will oversee her decisions related to BGN's finances. "I will not make any financial decisions unless Ms. Arumsari approves," she said.
Additionally, Nanik mentioned that under her leadership, BGN will focus on budget efficiency without reducing the target beneficiaries. "So it does not burden the state budget at this time," she added.
